YG2k 's Match Report

It was match day #6 and it was a very hot afternoon. 2 points separate YG2K from Chelsea at the top of the table and the boys know a
win will allow them to overtake Chelsea to top the table.
Jonan was recovering from stomach flu and was doubtful for the match. But he was
assessed to be OK before the match and he started the game in attack with Arjun.
Edison and Ryan manned the defense and Lester the goalkeeper.

Chelsea showed their attacking flair from the start, Lester punched away a dipping shot from one of their early attack.
YG2K never really settled down and Chelsea attacked with intent and purpose.
The players were always one step slower and lost out in most of the 50-50 situations.
It was 1-0 shortly after a good attacking move from Chelsea.
A wicked deflection wrong-footed Lester to make it 2-0 and a free kick make it 3-0.

Clearly , Chelsea was playing at a higher level than YG2K.
Arjun conjured up a good move down the flair and crossed the ball for Jonan to finish.
Any hope of any fightback ended when YG2K pushed attackers forward only to see Chelsea swift counter-attack move make it 5-1.
The boys looked demoralized and the match ended 6-1.
Chelsea had a few other good chances but Ryan and Edison did not lose heart and
defended valiantly. Lester also made some good saves.

With the loss , YG2K lost 3 points and Chelsea sealed the title unless they have
some major slip-up against the lower ranked teams.
Coach Fidel encouraged the boys after the game and he knew the boys can played at a much higher level than they displayed today.

It will be a great character building exercise to see how the boys bounced
back from the defeat and this was part of development process for the
players.

CFCSS SG - Team Oscar 's Match Report

Still smarting from their narrow defeat by ESPZEN Black the last time out, CFCSS SG Team Oscar were determined to put things right and regain control of the U9 Premiership title race.

Buoyed by a pre-match pep talk from coach Faizal, the boys were  pumped up against YG2K, knowing that a win here against the title contenders would take Chelsea closer to the crown. The desire and determination showed on the pitch right from the kick-off, with the players working hard for one another, defending with steel and attacking with verve.

The attacking duo of Jayden (4 goals) and Santino (2) played superb in tandem, and the pair was ably assisted by a tireless midfield.

As the referee blew the final whistle, the boys' elation was clear for all to see. Job done and they know they have taken a huge step towards the title.
