ESPZEN Black Vs Serangoon club was destining to be a great game, both teams who like to pass the ball it was all set to be a thriller. Turf City was at peak heat and with ESPZEN have no subs this was going to be a challenge.
The game throughout was fast flowing, both sets of players have to meet the tempo of the game and looking for that one chance to get in front. ESPZEN looked the more settled side looking to pass the ball around and were happy to work as a team. The deadlock was tight as Serangoon Club stayed strong in defense and had some strong players who were capable of winning their battle.
ESPZEN had numerous opportunities when attacking to score however at times the team choose the wrong option and the decision making cost the team taking the lead at times. The basics of decision making are priceless in football as the players who look to make good decisions tend to be world class players. The players seemed to learn from the mistakes and played some fast flowing football creating scoring opportunities however still not going in. The demands of the heat was noticeable on both team’s as the water break finally come, it was an easy team talk for ESPZEN coach, you have worked so hard for each other and looked to do the things we have done in training and that’s all I can ask for however, try go out there and make better decisions on the ball, Pass – Dribble – shoot, try make the right choice.
The game was sure to open up as ESPZEN looked to get in front and this is when Serangoon club took the lead with a fast counter attack and punishing finish from the play maker right of Serangoon club. Great finish and fantastic counter attack. The game become tense with both sets of parents creating a good friendly atmosphere which was fantastic to see.
With 5 minutes remaining ESPZEN had done tremendous to stay in the game so long, Nathan Mao was fantastic throughout and really looked to cause problems when going forward and also looked to prevent any further damage playing box to box and looked like Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard at times throughout the game. Suin looked clever and created some great opportunities with his great dribbling skills. The equalizer come with just 3 minutes to go with the ESPZEN outfit increasing the pressure hoping for some joy, the quality was shown when Yuki and Nathan combined cleverly and it opened up for Nathan to score. This was well deserved and it was great to see the lads so pleased with not just the result but the way in which they played for each other with not a minutes rest.
A fantastic game to watch from all spectators and we thank Serangoon for their sporting behaviors creating one of the best local amateur games through respect and love for the game.
Man of the match – Nathan Mao – Nathan was fantastic throughout both games and worked over time in order to help his team. He also showed true bravery to try what we had worked on in training and put it in his game. Fantastic display by Nathan Mao.
Espzen team has short of players so Risqy from Serangoon Cubs played for Ezpzen as a goal keeper. Yiqi has taken this new challenge as goal keeper. Yuqi has given his best.
Naufal and Akilan combination worked well and showed their defensive skills.
Jeric/rousan/irfan looks totally tired and can see the difficulties in the running with ball and finishing. Finally jeric showed his dribbling skills and he missed the goal as the goal keeper stopped the ball. Then Zayan passed the ball again to jeric and it was goal. 1-0.
Espzen put their effort and Yuqi misjudged the shooting and it was goal for Espzen. 1-1
Espzen kids played full time and showed their stamina.
Finally match was draw. Good luck both teams.
