YG2k 's Match Report

This was the first time both  team met in the league.

The boys was in high spirit after the win vs Football Plus and they was eager to play well vs Sparks FC.
But it was Sparks FC that started the game with much higher intensity. Their striker was assertive , quick and positioned himself very well to put pressure on the defence.
Izzy and Aqil did well to contain the attack.
Sparks FC crafted a series of chances before YG2K boys could begin to settle into a rhythm
Ironically, it was when YG2K boys started to exert their attack that Spark finally drew the first blood. Sparks defence dealt very well with a corner and launched a quick counter attack. Izzy, the last man,  had to dealt with the striker one-on-one. Credit to the striker, he charged past Izzy’s tackle and Travis charged out bravely to try to parry his shot.
Travis managed to parry the ball and the ball hit the vertical and bounce off to another on-rushing player to tap into goal. A good defensive effort , but it could not prevent the goal.
Sparks FC took the lead.
YG2K boys fought back hard for the equaliser but Sparks was determined to hang on to their lead and they defended very well as a team.
Their keeper was outstanding in his positioning and saved a few shots. The equaliser finally came and Rindra was the provider.
Rindra is a tricky dribbler and a clinical finisher, but throughout the last few game, he had also improved in his vision and ability to pick up his teammate.
Liken to the last match, it was his mazy run and great vision that created the goal.
He drew the defenders and worked the ball precisely to Mohamed, who was in a great position to shoot at the edge of the box. 1-1 !
Confidence naturally soared after the equaliser and YG2K continued to attack in search of another goal.
Jonan was introduced and he immediately made an impact on the left flank.
He went past 2 defenders and threaded the ball to Ridwan. Ridwan ball was saved by the keeper and cleared by the defender.
Mohamed picked up the loose ball and drilled a shot into the net to make it 2-1.
Sparks FC attacked well thereafter and there was a few moment of alarm but Ranen , together with Izzy, did well to preserve the lead.
Towards the end of the game, , YG2K had a measure of control over proceedings and added another goal.
It arose from a deadball situation - An indirect free kick. With a touch of the ball by Aqil, Jonan tried to drill the ball past the wall but to no avail. The rebound went back to Aqil and he laid the ball again for Jonan and he blasted ball hard into the net from a distance.
 Final Score: 3-1

Sparks FC 's Match Report

Buoyed by our 2nd win of the season, the boys went into the second game of the game brimming with confidence. Despite playing against one of the most in-form teams in the league, the boys played with no fear. Indeed, they continued from they left off in the previous game and played with a high intensity that caught our opponents off guard. The boys launched a series of attacks, and were eventually rewarded with the lead through a Christopher goal, assisted by the impressive Reinard. The goal seemed to spark our opponents into life, as they began wave after wave of attacks onto our goal. Our boys were strong in defence, with our goalkeeper leading the way with a few outsanding saves. But alas, our defence was finally breached by their star player, who crafted the equaliser for his teammate with a tricky run. With the match finely poised at 1-1, the two teams went at each other and it was practically our defense against their attack. The fort was eventually breached twice later in the game, but our boys stood tall in defeat. Credits to our opponents who played a tough and fair game.
