Sparks FC 's Match Report
Coming off the back of a heavy defeat is never easy. However, after a pep talk by the coaches, the players were all ready to given. Facing a strong opponent like ESPZEN SS Black, the odds were already against them right from the onset. Starting with the first 7 that started the previous game, the team was down a couple of goals within the first few minutes. However, this time round, the players did not let their heads down and played even harder, determined to give their all. Even though their inexperience was constantly exposed by our opponents throughout the game, they never gave up and tried their best defensively, with Martin leading the way with his commendable efforts. He was practically everywhere, playing the most number of minutes and constantly running and hustling the opponents to the best of his abilities. He was eventually substituted out due to an injury that he picked up in the game. All in all, it was a solid footballing lesson given by our opponents and I believe our players will benefit greatly from the lessons learnt in this game.
ESPZEN SS Black 's Match Report
A challenging game in many respects, as it difficult to keep our players motivated in such games which to be honest we dont really enjoy playing. Credit to Sparks for battling on throughout the match with great enthusiasm and they will surely improve rapidly playing in the highest division.... if they keep their spirits high.
For ESPZEN from the kick off we set our players different challenges, ranging from playing in new positions, 2 touch, 3 touch, everyone must touch, combination goals, and score with first touch... the team in all fairness did respond and moved the ball well, still we had some careless passes that need to be eradicated quickly from our build up play. All players (except for Ryan and Kai) managed to get on the score sheet today including Kris scoring his first U10 goal (Well done kris)..
Shang awarded MotM to John, for showing good work rate across the 2 games and running into space.
