F17 Black 's Match Report
The boys put the disappointment of the previous match behind them and focused on playing to form and ability in this one. After all... It's less about falling down than it is about getting back up and going again.
Another gripping contest ensued between the two 'Black' sides with plenty of action across the pitch. The game somehow remained a stalemate until we conceded right on the brink of the water-break; a far-post finish to a sweeping move. A goal down, and up against it.
Once again, Sky mustered the troops and the team upped the tempo yet again with 15min remaining.
On 25min, Raoul swept home Max's squared ball to drag us back into the game, setting up yet another grandstand finish between these two sides. Right at the death, Max clipped the ball into the top corner after some good hold-up play from Thaqif.
Still... Our opponents poured forward to unleash a screamer which Remy flung himself at to tip over the bar.
Yet another dramatic end to this quite compelling fixture.
ESPZEN SS Black 's Match Report
In the second game of the day, the U10s managed to create a repeat of the previous week's game against F-17. As with the previous week's game, ESPZEN started well and created a number of chances. It was pleasing to see the players putting into practice what they had learnt in training, with Jan Tze Soong in particular showing good play in wide areas. ESPZEN got the breakthrough when Nils Vandersmissen crossed for man of the match Izak Williams who had made a great run to the back post. Izak was threat throughout with his movement and dribbling. The team defended even better than the previous week and F-17 didn't manage to create many chances, but they deserve great credit for their attitude and never giving up. Unfortunately, as with the last game, a couple of mistakes led to late goals for F-17 to win 2-1, but these things happen! Overall an encouraging performance from the team.
