ESPZEN SS Yellow 's Match Report

First game against our close friends and we just know we got to work hard in every area of the pitch.

ESPZEN SS Black started strong as always and got the 1st and added the 2nd but we started taking back to them before Isaac got his 1st goal to make it 1-2.

We started passing and moving the ball around fast and trying to close down fast too but with the quick play of the ESPZEN SS Black we could not stop much and they added 4 pass us to make it 1-6,

Not the best day for us but we look forward to the return leg soon.

Joshua was the captain of the day and is MOM goes to Isaac for is only goal scored.

ESPZEN SS Black 's Match Report

ESPZEN Black Vs Yellow

With the U9 black team currently toping the table to suspense of pulling further clear was in the hands of the U9 Yellow group who were in no means going to make it easy for the black team who were encouraged by their coach from the 1st whistle to have a go at winning the game.

The game started quickly with a number of attacks which led to early chances for both teams. Marcelo and Nathan were in charge of looking after the danger and did a magnificent job of getting the ball to Yuki and Isak Williams who were encouraged to take players on and be positive at any given opportunity.  The skill on show from both players were fantastic and shows credit of just how far they have come as a player this season.

The game was played in good spirit however the competiveness of the fixture was clear to see in the early stages ESPZEN black team started to rush their decision making which led to mistakes and created chances for Isaac Pizano who was fantastic on the day created numerous head-aches for Marcelo and Nathan on the back line.

5 mins into the game ESPZEN black go the break through with a well worked goal. The 2nd was not far behind as we could see the ESPZEN yellow team lost belief very quickly. Ethan Wan and Isaac were stand out players and the instruction was for Yuki and Isak to get goal side of the ball and make it hard for them to attack with less space. This worked perfectly and provided ESPZEN with the ball and a chance to attack on the counter which ESPZEN Yellow could not deal with.

The yellow team did pull one back with a mistake playing out from the back by Marcelo who’s lack of concentration cost his team a goal. This did not knock his confidence though some of his tackles and general play from then on increased and turned the performance round for his team.

After 15- 20 minutes ESPZEN showed their dominance in the game keeping the ball from the opposition showing their patience when creating attacks. I would have liked to see better game management from the start but the players worked tremendously hard and deserved the win.

Man of the match – Isak Williams – For his bravery in the attack and  creating chances for his team mates.
