Spanish Soccer Club Asia (SSCA) 's Match Report
SSCA started their journey in ESPZEN Junior League U8 Premiership against FC Jepun. Both teams started the game brightly and it was an even contest in the first 5 minutes. As the game went on, SSCA started to be more comfortable on the ball and found their rhythm switching the ball from side to side and trying to create an opportunity. Our breakthrough came in the 8th minute, when one of our standout performers of the day, Noah Zwart played another Nicolas Zegel, who was also the captain for the day through on goal and he finished with ease. We then managed to hit them again on the counter a minute later. Being 2 goals up, and no trouble at your back line, the boys took their feet off the pedal and had a lapse in concentration which allowed FC Jepun to create a chance and they took it well. The boys realised their mistake and rallied on to score a few more. With the rain getting heavier and threatening to stop the game, we stopped for half-time and they boys were ecstatic about their performance but at the same time, knew they had to focus till the final whistle. Even after being a few goals down, FC Jepun didn't stop fighting till the very end and gave us a good show of determination and the boys were proud to have them as opponents in their very first game in our new League. Our Man of the match and captain for the day, Nicolas Zegel then rounded a great game off with an assist from Ryan Shan-Lim and secured our first 3 points in the ESPZEN Junior League. A great shoutout to FC Jepun for being a great sport and fighting till the very end and we wish you all the best for your season ahead!
